Silhouette Spring Shadow Box Tutorial
Welcome Spring with this simple Spring Shadow Box you can personalize with your favorite colors and scrapbook papers to match any room in your house.
Supplies:
Silhouette CAMEO® or Silhouette Portrait™
Silhouette Studio® or Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition
Silhouette Double-sided Adhesive
Silhouette Glitter Colors
Silhouette Premium Vinyl (Gold)
Silhouette Online Store Birdcage Branch Design
Silhouette Hook Tool
Silhouette Spatula Tool
Silhouette Brush
12″ x 12″ Shadow Box
12″ x 12″ Scrapbook Paper
Adhesive
Rubbing Alcohol
Instructions:
Designing and Cutting your art work:
Design your art work in your Silhouette Studio® or Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition using Silhouette Online Store’s Birdcage Branch design and your favorite font.
Cut the tree branch design on scrapbook paper, cut the heart inside the tree branch (you may need to ungroup the design) on Silhouette Double-sided Adhesive and cut the word art on Silhouette Premium Vinyl.
To cut various materials, follow the instructions that comes with Silhouette materials. Don’t forget to change your blade depth and cut setting for each material.
For the Scrapbook paper inside the Shadow Box frame:
Using your favorite adhesive, place and adhere the tree branch design on a piece of 12″ by 12″ scrapbook paper in the place you designed in your Silhouette Studio® or Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition.
Remove the yellow backing from the adhesive heart shape and adhere the heart to the scrapbook page in the middle of the birdcage.
Remove the top white liner leaving only the adhesive on the scrapbook paper.
Using the Silhouette Brush, liberally add Silhouette Glitter Colors to the heart shape.
Use a soft cloth or the Silhouette Brush to brush away extra loose glitter from the paper.
For the vinyl ‘Spring’ word art:
Remove the liner from transfer tape and gently lay tape over your stencil starting in the center and moving out towards the ends. Burnish the tape onto the vinyl using overlapping strokes.
Peel the transfer tape with your design attached to it off of the vinyl liner.
Wipe Shadow Box glass with Rubbing Alcohol to clean. Apply your image and transfer tape to the Shadow Box glass and burnish the design on to the surface in the place you designed in your Silhouette Studio® or Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition. Gently peel back transfer tape and 45-degree angle. If vinyl starts to come off with transfer tape, lay area back down and burnish again.
Reassemble Shadow Box and admire your beautiful new work of art.
