Last week ended up being a hectic week for us and our summer bucket list. Not only did we mark seven new activities off our summer bucket list, but we even added a few more activities we found along the way.
Weekends are always jam-packed full of fun at our house, so last Monday we took it easy and spent the day building with blocks. All our boys have always loved this quiet-time activity, even our little 18 month old loved it.
Last week we introduced the boys to a Slip N Slide, killed two birds with one stone by marking off the activities of ‘creating something from a library book’ off our summer reading program (paper air darts and delta wing flyers from a science book) and having paper airplane races off our summer bucket list. We even had a fun and competitive family game night and the boys learned how to make pancakes for the first time.
Last weekend was busy as ever as the boys learned how to play horseshoes and had a water balloon toss after receiving their first baseball trophies and spending the day at a kids carnival. We also attended the El Dorado County Fair, held in the Sierra Nevada Gold Country in the El Dorado National Forrest. The boys took a lesson on how to pan for gold, raced to see who could put on a Forrest Firefighters uniform the fastest, learned how to use a fire extinguisher, rode their favorite roller coasters, enjoyed an ice-cold ice cream after a long hot day of fun.
