Today we are celebrating our twins 6th birthday! It seems like just yesterday, we holding our little babies for the first time, snuggling with them and caring for our precious children.
Before having children, my husband and I were both full of love, but not the same love that we know now. There is no love, like the love you have for your own children. It’s a unique and special love that can’t be explained with words, instead you feel this love every time you gaze into their big beautiful eyes.
The dark side of my children!
This year, our children requested a Star Wars themed birthday day party. We kept the party really low-key, with just the grandparents, because our children’s real birthday adventure will come later this year.
Before the party, the boys and I went to their favorite ice cream shoppe to pick out their birthday cake and birthday cake decorations. After about 20 minutes of the cutest discussion I have ever seen between two soon-to-be six-year olds, the boys decided on a chocolate birthday cake with 1/2 mint chocolate chip ice cream and 1/2 Oreo cookie ice cream.
This is the third year we have opted to buy our own birthday cake decorations. I love doing this because the boys get to keep and play with real, sturdy toys after their birthday cake is gone, instead of the typical cheap and flimsy birthday cake decorations which usually end up in the garbage before the weekend is over.
The real birthday adventure, what could that be?
It’s no secret how much our children LOVE Lego’s, and this year both boys requested a vacation at Lego Land in lieu of a school birthday party. We thought this sounded like such a great idea, and a bargain for mom and dad {wink}, that we decided to jump on board.
So, later this year, we will be taking our first official family vacation!!! Yay!!!
Our birthday boys!
Of course this birthday party was all about our twins, but we can’t have party photographs without showing how much fun Little C had too!
No, our poor little guy couldn’t have any of the boys’ birthday cake, but he did get his favorite, special food allergy safe cookie to enjoy at the party. Just look at that messy little face.
And the bows, this little boy loves bows and he loves to stick them everywhere he can, especially on himself {giggles}. He really had a great time cheering on his big brothers at their birthday party.
Our little boy and his bow!
Happy Birthday Boys! Mommy and Daddy love you so much!
